Frequently Asked Questions — Plans & Specs Reprographics
Straight answers from a real print shop. From A/E/C plans and spec books to brochures, banners, business cards, and color-managed marketing pieces—we make sure your files, finishes, and timelines are set up for success.
What types of printing services do you offer?
We provide both large- and small-format printing. Services include A/E/C (Architectural, Engineering, Construction) plans and specs, banners, business cards, brochures, carbonless/NCR forms, postcards, lawn signs, flyers, and more.
Do you work with architects, engineers, and contractors?
Yes. We specialize in A/E/C printing and understand accuracy, scaling, sheet sets, and fast turnarounds for construction documents, blueprints, and spec books. We also serve schools, small businesses, nonprofits, and more.
Can I email my files or do I need to drop them off in person?
You can email files to [email protected]. For larger projects, share a cloud link (Google Drive, Dropbox). In-person drop-offs are welcome, too.
Do you offer design services?
Yes. We can lay out brochures, rack cards, signs, spec book covers, and more. We’ll supply print-ready files with correct bleeds, panel widths, and scoring/folding notes.
How can I get a quote?
Call 407-786-3755, email your specs, or use our contact form. Include size, quantity, color/BW, paper stock, and finishing for the most accurate estimate.
What file types do you accept for printing?
PDF (with bleeds) is preferred. We also accept AI, INDD, PSD, TIFF, high-res PNG/JPEG, and CAD-to-PDF for plans. Please outline/embed fonts and package linked images when possible.
What are your bleed, margin, and safe-area guidelines?
Add a 0.125″ (1/8″) bleed on all sides, keep text and logos at least 0.25″ from the trim, and export crops/bleeds on your PDF. We can provide templates for common sizes/folds.
What resolution (DPI) should my images be?
Aim for 300 DPI at final size for brochures/cards and 150–200 DPI for large banners viewed from a distance. Avoid upscaling small web images.
Can you match brand colors and Pantone® spot colors?
Yes. We run a color-managed workflow. Provide your CMYK builds or Pantone references; we’ll proof critical brand elements and recommend the best stock/finish to maintain color fidelity.
Do you provide digital or printed proofs before production?
Absolutely. We can send a calibrated digital proof or arrange a printed proof for color-critical work, brochures with complex folds, or new brand pieces.
What finishing options do you offer (scoring, folding, laminating, etc.)?
Common finishes include scoring, folding (tri-fold, half-fold, Z-fold, gate), hole drilling, coil/wire-o/saddle-stitch binding, corner rounding, lamination (matte/gloss/soft-touch), and spot UV or foil accents.
Can you print spec books and plan sets with correct scaling?
Yes. We handle half-size and full-size sets with scale accuracy, title blocks, tabs, covers, and bindings. Standard ARCH/ANSI sizes are supported; we can also scan and archive sets.
Do you offer document scanning, OCR, and digital archiving?
We can scan large-format plans and small-format documents, add OCR for searchability, and organize files into shareable PDFs or indexed folders for your team.
What are typical turnarounds? Do you handle rush jobs?
Most items (business cards, brochures, posters) run in 1–3 business days after proof approval. Complex booklets and large quantities may take longer. Rush options are often available—call 407-786-3755.
Do you support variable data printing (names, unique codes, addresses)?
Yes. Send a clean spreadsheet with the variable fields (names, titles, numbers, QR codes). We’ll merge your data into postcards, rack cards, badges, and more.
What paper stocks do you carry for brochures and business cards?
Popular choices include 100# text (gloss/matte), 80–100# cover for durable brochures, and 14–16pt cover for cards. Specialty: uncoated premium, recycled, and soft-touch laminate.
Can you help fix file issues (bleeds, panel widths, image quality)?
Yes. Our pre-press team checks bleeds, margins, overprints, image resolution, and fold/score positions. We’ll flag problems and can correct them upon request.
Do you sign NDAs and handle confidential projects securely?
Absolutely. We regularly handle confidential bid sets and internal materials. We can sign your NDA and limit access to authorized staff only.
Is there a minimum order quantity for printing?
No strict minimums for most digital jobs—great for prototypes and small teams. For offset runs and specialty finishes, we’ll recommend quantities that maximize value.
What binding options are available for books and manuals?
Saddle-stitch, coil, wire-o, perfect bind (select sizes), and square-fold staples. We can add tabs, clear covers, and printed spines to organize long documents.
Do you offer weather-resistant options for outdoor signs and job sites?
Yes. Options include laminated posters, rigid coroplast, PVC, aluminum composite, and UV-stable inks. We can add grommets or stakes for easy setup.
How do I prepare CAD drawings or Revit sheets for accurate printing?
Export to PDF at the correct sheet size (ARCH/ANSI), verify scale bars and title blocks, and set line weights to print (not screen). We’ll spot-check scale before running sets.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept major cards and business checks; we also set up approved house accounts for recurring A/E/C clients. Ask about account terms.
